Aldi has cheered £1.65 billion sales over December as the German owned discount supermarket said price remained their “biggest priority,” for their customers.

The company reported in the four weeks to Christmas Eve a 3% rise in total sales and reported 57 million transactions.

The supermarket chain said in the final trading week in the lead up to Christmas sales increased by 5% as £500 million went through their tills.

The German discount chain said that price was their “biggest priority for shoppers in 2025, with customers seeking ways to celebrate on a budget”.

Giles Hurley, chief executive of Aldi UK and Ireland, said, “This Christmas proved once again that a great quality Christmas can still be affordable.

“We’re grateful that more people than ever chose Aldi for their Christmas shop and trusted us to deliver both quality and value during what remains a challenging time for many.”
