Labour MPs are speaking out against Sir Keir Starmer calling for him to go over the Peter Mandelson scandal which continues to rock the government and their credibility.

The Prime Minister is fighting for his position on Thursday morning after he dropped the bombshell admission that “he did know” about Peter Mandelson’s relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Labour MPs have reacted furiously to the admission and senior officials have said that Starmer cannot defend this.

A Cabinet member said the new revelations is “very hard to defence,” telling the Times this is “yet another self-inflicted wound” for Starmer.

Another said Starmer’s position is “terminal” and another said the Prime Minister’s performance during PMQs on Wednesday was “physically painful” to watch.

The well respected veteran Labour MP Karl Turner told Times Radio, “My advice to the Prime Minister is get rid of those advisers who have frankly given terrible advice to him over weeks and months.

“The PM needs to deal with that and make a decision. If the PM decides he has to be surrounded by advisers who give him shoddy advice the reality of that is the Prime Minister is going to have to make a decision about his future some point soon

“If McSweeney is still in 10 Downing Street the PM is up against it”

An MP told Newsnight, “That was Keir’s worst performance at PMQs – I don’t see how he comes back from this – he is toast,” another told the programme, “Morgan out! Get rid!”
