A former Russian intelligence insider has blasted the ongoing Putin-Trump peace talks on Ukraine as nothing more than a “KGB operation” — a high-stakes Kremlin scheme to manipulate the world while pretending to negotiate peace.

“Anyone who thinks these talks are real is sleepwalking into a trap,” the source told reporters. “It’s classic KGB-style deception — secrecy, manipulation, and the illusion of compromise.”

The allegations come as Geneva and Washington prepare for further closed-door meetings, with critics warning that the US could be played by Moscow’s propaganda machine.

The sources delivered some shocking facts, saying the talks are tightly controlled by Kremlin advisers; transparency is almost zero.

Ukrainian officials stress any deal must be enforceable, not just PR.

Whilst observers fear Moscow is leveraging the negotiations to gain political advantage without making concessions.

One analyst said, “This isn’t just diplomacy — it’s a masterclass in misinformation. Putin is playing chess, and the rest of the world risks being mere pawns.”

The “KGB operation” warning taps into deep Cold War fears, highlighting Russia’s historical use of intelligence networks and media influence to shape global perception.

With the world watching, questions loom large: Are these talks a genuine path to peace, or is the Kremlin orchestrating yet another global propaganda stunt?
