Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that the conflict in the Middle East could escalate in the coming days, reflecting growing international concern over the region’s volatility.

His caution comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf, where the U.S. has recently deployed robotic speedboats like the GARC, introducing new asymmetric capabilities to counter Iranian fast-attack boats and drones.”

I ‌have reasons to believe, also ‌based on information we’ve received from our allies, that stabilisation is unlikely in the coming days,” the Polish Prime Minister told reporters on Friday.

“On the contrary, a new escalation may occur.”

These developments follow Iran’s previous attacks on commercial shipping using sea drones and missiles, signalling Tehran’s willingness to test regional defences. The combination of U.S. technological countermeasures and Iran’s aggressive maritime tactics increases the risk of incidents that could quickly escalate into broader confrontations.

Tusk’s warning emphasises that even seemingly tactical deployments—such as uncrewed naval drones—carry strategic consequences, heightening the risk of rapid escalation if miscalculations occur in the Strait of Hormuz or nearby waters.
