On Saturday, the U.S. President issued a warning to Iran, stating that the country has 48 hours to reach an agreement and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump threatened severe military consequences if Iran fails to comply.
This warning follows previous ultimatums in which Trump indicated that he would target Iran’s infrastructure, including power plants, if the Strait of Hormuz, which is a critical global oil route, is not fully reopened for shipping.
The Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes, has experienced significant disruptions since the outbreak of war, leading to rising global energy prices and economic uncertainty.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran has 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or “all hell” will be delivered, saying: “Glory be to God!”
He wrote: “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. [sic] Glory be to GOD! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
