Last Friday FIFA announced that alcohol sales at Qatar World Cup stadiums are banned which is thought to have been motivated by pressure from Qatar’s royal family.

Budweiser struck a $75 million deal with FIFA to be the official sponsor and will reportedly seek some $47 million from FIFA after the 11th hour decision to ban alcohol inside stadiums

Anheuser-Busch InBev who owns Budweiser and many other brands has another deal in place worth around $112 million for the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico.

According to The Sun Budweiser will be looking for a $47 million reduction of the $112 million deal for the 2026 World Cup.
