Happy Wednesday evening, everyone! You’re unwinding for the day, getting ready for a relaxing night, and … you realize that the App Store and a bunch of other Apple services aren’t working. Don’t worry, you aren’t alone.

What Apple services are down? When did the problems start? When can we expect everything to be back to normal? Here’s everything you need to know.

When did the App Store outage start?

According to DownDetector, reports for outages with the App Store flooded in a little after 6 p.m. ET. Reports appear to be spiking at over 6,000, indicating pretty widespread problems.

Attempting to open the App Store shows a “Cannot Connect” message, followed by “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

This comes just a few hours after WhatsApp and Facebook were down earlier this afternoon.

Are other Apple services down?

In addition to the App Store, other Apple services are down, too. Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+ all appear to be experiencing similar issues, too.

Looking at the official Apple System Status website, Apple has confirmed outages for all of the following:

  • App Store Connect
  • App Store Connect (App Upload)
  • App Store Connect (TestFlight)
  • App Store Connect API
  • Apple Podcasts Connect

As of 7:10 p.m., issues seem to be persisting across all of these Apple services. The Apple TV app opens and shows movies and TV shows you’ve purchased, but all of Apple TV+ is gone. Apple Music doesn’t get past a loading screen, Apple Podcasts shows a “Can’t connect right now” message, and the Apple Fitness app doesn’t allow you to play any Fitness+ programs.

When will everything be back to normal?

Right now, it’s unclear how long the outage will last. Apple is usually pretty good about restoring services when they go down, but as of right now, there’s no ETA when that will be.

We’ll keep an eye out on our end and update this article once things start coming back online.
