NATO has been warned that if Ukraine does join the alliance then this will be “a declaration of war” with Russia.

The deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev that “prudence” on NATO’s part might prevent destruction for the world.

He also warned that by 2034 Ukraine will “no longer exist” as a result of joining NATO, he told aif.ru in an interview.

Medvedev’s statement comes as the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine is on an “irreversible path” to join the alliance.

The Kremlin previously issued a chilling warning that they “guarantee” should Ukraine join NATO then this “will lead to World War Three.”

A senior NATO official warned Russia that if there is any use of tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine there will be a “physical response.”

The formal communique out of the summit said, “We fully support Ukraine’s right to choose its own security arrangements and decide its own future, free from outside interference. Ukraine’s future is in NATO.

“We welcome the concrete progress Ukraine has made since the Vilnius Summit on its required democratic, economic, and security reforms.

“As Ukraine continues this vital work, we will continue to support it on its irreversible path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership.”

NATO said they will “be in a position to extend an invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance when Allies agree and conditions are met.”

Medvedev said, “The actions that Russia’s opponents have been taking against us for years, expanding the alliance … take NATO to the point of no return.”

The staunch Kremlin insider said that Moscow has not threatened NATO, he added, “Russia … has no intention of attacking alliance member countries, and certainly does not aim to turn their populations into fine radioactive dust.”

Medvedev told aif.ru in an interview that by 20234 Ukraine “will no longer exist” as it is scheduled to join NATO.

The Russian security official said, “It’s no coincidence that NATO Secretary General [Jens] Stoltenberg said openly that it would be a positive scenario if Ukraine joins the alliance in 2034. Which means that it never will.”

Medvedev then warned, “By that time none of NATO’s current leaders will remain on their posts.

“It’s quite possible that <…> [Ukraine] will no longer exist as well.”

The Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Alexander Venediktov, told the state TASS news agency in an interview in 2022 “Kyiv is well aware that such a step would mean a guaranteed escalation to a World War Three.

“Apparently, that’s what they are counting on – to create informational noise and draw attention to themselves once again.”

Venediktov added that Russia’s position that the West helping Ukraine with heavy weaponry, indicates that “they are a direct party to the conflict.”
