Belarus has been hit with a Russian drone attack in a “friendly fire” catastrophe which crashed then exploded some 30 miles from the city of Babruisk, which is come 75 miles from the Ukrainian border.

A second drone entered into the territory near to the village of Belaya Soroka and a Belarusian fighter jet and a helicopter was scrambled to in a failed attempt to intercept the UAV.

This will be seen as an utter embarrassment for the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

Lukashenko has forged close ties with Vladimir Putin since the war started in Ukraine and Belarus has Russian nuclear weapons stationed in the country.

Russia also uses Belarus to launch missile strikes inside Ukraine and Minsk receives other types of support from Moscow.

In return Belarus supplies Putin with ammunition, training, tanks fuel and healthcare.

Belarusian troops have also been deployed with multiple rocket systems on the border in an attempt to intimidate Ukrainian forces to retreat from patrolling their border. The Belarusian troops have now returned back to barracks, Lukashenko confirmed.

Lukashenko told the official BelTA news agency that Belarusian intelligence claim Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from the so called sensitive areas.

Lukashenko added, “That means that those (Ukrainian) troops which had been brought in as reinforcements are now gone.

“There are now no difficulties with the Ukrainians and I hope there will be none.”
