The JBL Bar 9.1 is what you might call a “splittable” soundbar, and now its price has been split, too, as it is over half off. Normally $1,200, you can now get one for just $570, and that even includes a 10-inch subwoofer. That’s a discount of $630 or 53% off, all yours if you tap the button below. But you’ll need to hurry as this deal will end once a set number of the soundbars are sold. And right now, at the time of this writing, 36% of the total amount have already been claimed. But, if you need more information you can keep reading to see our experiences with the soundbar and its detachment mechanism, plus some other considerations.

Why you should buy the JBL Bar 9.1

Displayed above is the feature that makes this soundbar unique. On the ends are what our JBL Bar 9.1 review describes as two battery-powered totally wireless satellites. Detach them, then plop them around the room and you get a Dolby Atmos experience. When you reattach them, they start charging, holding up to about 10 hours of charge in total. Each bar also contains a micro-USB charge port so you can charge them while detached, too. You should also note that you can still wall mount the main part of the bar without worrying about these satellites falling out. While I haven’t personally arm wrestled our reviewer, Simon Cohen, his assessment that it can take a firm grip of a hand or two to get the satellites free gives me confidence they’ll stay put.

While the review praised the Bar 9.1’s intense bass sound from the subwoofer, great Dolby Atmos, and simple setup, we have to admit that not everything was glowing. For example, it only has one HDMI input port, which is not ideal. Ultimately, though, the sound was great and we can report an excellent time with a John Wick film during the review. But the main crunch at the time was the price, with the salient advice being that you should “think long and hard before spending $1,000 on this soundbar — you can find great Dolby Atmos sound for a lot less.”

But now, this soundbar is a lot less. If you tap the button below and get it before all of the copies sell out, it (and its subwoofer) are just $570. Once again, that’s a discount of $630, a total of 53% off. You might also consider comparing it to our listing of the best soundbars under $500, too, for a more complete picture of its post-discount competition.
