To quote Chuck Berry: ‘Run, run Rudolph, Santa’s gotta make it to town.’ Anyone who has not yet sent their gifts to friends and loved ones living overseas should hurry, warns the international delivery specialist Parcelhero.
Time is running out to send your parcels to many destinations, especially if you are planning to have them delivered by a major international carrier rather than a certain red-nosed reindeer.
Parcelhero says today (17 December) is the last date you can book a parcel collection and be confident it will arrive before the Big Day to addresses in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
Parcelhero also advises that the final recommended date for Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies is Wednesday. Thursday is D-Day for a host of major international destinations, including the USA and India.
Parcelhero’s Head of Consumer Research, David Jinks M.I.L.T., says: ‘Even with Rudolph “whizzin’ like a shootin’ star”, there’s surprisingly little time to order a parcel collection from your home to many international destinations.
‘With many mailing deadlines coming early, Parcelhero has relaunched our popular Christmas tool in the nick of time. Senders can now discover the last collection dates for presents to UK and international destinations and see handy packaging and Customs clearance hacks to help ensure gifts reach their destinations in time.
‘Allowing good time for Customs clearance, it’s too late for a guaranteed delivery by international carrier to Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Zimbabwe. Today is the final date to be certain packages can be collected and delivered in time to a number of key international destinations, while Thursday really is D-Day. As well as the USA and India, it’s also the final date to book a collection for delivery to Italy, Spain, Denmark and a myriad of other countries.
‘Why will Rudolph find himself running so fast to deliver to the USA? Some international economy services are already showing that they will miss Christmas, so the pressure is building on Express services. With no Sunday parcel collections and, of course, no deliveries on 25 December, all packages must be booked and collected this week.
‘Don’t forget, it’s not only international parcels that are running out of time. If you’re planning to send a “rock ’n’ roll ’lectric guitar” or a “little baby doll that can cry, sleep, drink and wet” to a UK destination, don’t rely on Rudolph “whizzin’ like a Saber jet”. Our Christmas tool recommends all collections for UK destinations must be booked for no later than Friday 20 December, to be confident of delivery in time for the Big Day.’
