The White House has dismissed the news report by Reuters that the US is set to cancel the legal status of 240,000 Ukrainians.

The White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said in a statement that “no decision has been made at this time,” therefore this leaves almost a quarter of million Ukrainians still uncertain.

Leavitt said, “This is more fake news from Reuters based on anonymous sources who have no idea what they are talking about. The truth: no decision has been made at this time.”

It was reported that the US President’s administration is allegedly planning to deport 240,000 Ukrainians from America by revoking their temporary legal status.

A senior Trump official and three sources who are aware of this matter warned that this could happen as soon as April, Reuters reported.

According to an ICE internal email the migrants who lose their parole status will face deportation proceedings.

ICE is the US Immigration and Customer Enforcement who are a federal law enforcement agency that comes under the Department of Homeland Security.

On 20 January Trump signed an executive order for the Department of Homeland Security to “terminate all categorical parole programmes.”
