Civilians who live on a NATO border are leaving over fears of a full-scale Russian invasion on the Suwalki Gap which is around 60 miles long that connects Poland and Lithuania.
The gap is also known as the Suwalki Corridor which separats Belarus and the heavily fortified Russian region of Kaliningrad.
The area is the most vulnerable point and should Russia invade the Suwalki Corridor would allow strikes from both sides that could cut off the Baltic States leaving NATO to make high stake decisions.
Fears are growing as Moscow has warned Donald Trump of World War III after the US President said that Vladimir Putin is “playing with fire.”
The US President warned Putin that he is “playing with fire” and what Putin “doesn’t realise is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean really bad. He is playing with fire.”

The deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev then issued a warning to Trump, he said, “Regarding Trump’s words about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and ‘really bad things’ happening to Russia.
“I only know of one really bad thing — WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!”
There is 6 million people who live on the Suwalki Gap and should Russia invade NATO territory then all out war will start between the alliance and Moscow.
Reports coming out of Poland and Lithuania says that some people have already left as they are fearful of a Russian invasion.
The German newspaper Bild has said that people are fleeing en-masse as they fear they will become victims of any potential conflict between Russia and NATO.
Residents told Bild, “We don’t want to be the first to be hit,” as military exercises in the region are escalating.
Poland’s National Security Bureau and ex-Deputy Defense Minister Stanisław Koziej has also warned of conflict from Russia, saying, “The Russians will enter the Suwałki corridor,” EADaily reported.
An expert has warned that any conflict in the Suwalki Corridor would be “intense and catastrophic” which would lead to a “high risk” of escalation.
The Express reported that a source said, “The Suwałki Corridor linking Poland to Lithuania between Belarus and Kaliningrad, two heavily militarised regions under Russian influence, is the only land route for NATO forces to reach Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
“Control of this corridor could isolate the Baltic states and create a fait accompli, forcing NATO into a high-risk decision: escalate or accept defeat.
“NATO’s credible deterrence posture in the region is improving, but still vulnerable to a surprise hybrid or short-warning kinetic attack.
“A conflict in the Suwałki Gap would be short, intense, and catastrophic, with high risks of escalation to nuclear thresholds, especially if Russia perceives defeat as existential.
“Preventing war requires forward-deployed NATO troops, airpower readiness, enhanced Polish-Lithuanian coordination, and reinforcement of Baltic defence infrastructure.”
