The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Iran wants a “forever war” and will not rule out assassinating the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei which would be a good way to “end the conflict.”
During an interview with ABC News Netanyahu was asked about reports the US President vetoed a plan to kill Khamenei as it would escalate the war in the Middle East.
He said, “It’s not going to escalate the conflict, it’s going to end the conflict.
“We’ve had half a century of conflict spread by this regime that terrorizes everyone in the Middle East.
“The ‘forever war’ is what Iran wants, and they’re bringing us to the brink of nuclear war.”
“In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing this, bringing an end to this aggression, and we can only do so by standing up to the forces of evil,” he added.
Netanyahu would not confirm nor deny that Israel will assassinate Khamenei, he only said, “We’re doing what we need to do.”
