On Friday the Foreign Secretary David Lammy will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Geneva.

Lammy will also meet with his German and French counterparts as they will try and find a resolution to end the conflict in Iran and Israel before the US President orders a military strike on Tehran.

The US President Donald Trump said on Thursday there is still “a substantial chance of negotiations” and “within the next two weeks” he will make a firm decision on deploying the military.

The Foreign Secretary said, “The situation in the Middle East remains perilous. We are determined that Iran must never have a nuclear weapon.

Lammy added a “window now exists within the next two weeks to achieve a diplomatic solution.

“Now is the time to put a stop to the grave scenes in the Middle East and prevent a regional escalation that would benefit no one.”
