Thousands of mourners have taken to the streets in Tehran to mourn the death of top military officials and nuclear scientists who were killed during the 12-day war with Israel.

Mourners are dressed in black and lined the street of Tehran chanting “death to America” and “death to Israel.”

At least 10 Iranian commanders and 16 scientists were killed during the 12-day war and their coffins were driven into Azadi Square.

State run Press TV said the funeral was dubbed the “funeral procession of the Martyrs of Power” as 60 people were killed in the war.

Emirates Airlines has confirmed they are extending the cancellation of all flights to and from Tehran amid the “regional situation.”

The Dubai based airline added, “Customers connecting through Dubai with final destinations in Iran will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin until further notice.”

Emirates continued, “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers. We continue to closely monitor developments. The safety of our passengers, employees and operations will always be our top priority.”
