The Israeli ambassador to the UK has suggested that Israel could launch strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities as Tehran comes closer to building a nuclear weapon.

Speak with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg on Sunday Tzipi Hotovely said that Israel will not rule anything out to “remove the threat” from Iran.

Following almost 200 ballistic missiles being fired on Israel by Iran last week, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Tehran will “pay a really severe price.”

The Israeli Foreign Minister warned Tehran that they have now crossed the “red line” with their attack last Tuesday.

Kuenssberg asked Hotovely, “Your leader Benjanim Netanyahu has warned there will be a strike on Iran in some form after they attacked Israel a few days ago.

“Will you rule out attacking Iran’s nuclear sites, which is what President Biden wants you to do?”

She said, “I’ll tell you what Israel is definite to do – to remove the threat.

“Iran attacked Israel twice, on April 14 and just a few days ago, with hundreds and hundreds of missiles. Those missiles were targeting civilians, those missiles could kill thousands of people if Israel didn’t have such a good, protective system and very disciplined civilians that were in shelters.

“So, we’re not interested to be under a missile threat from Iran. We’re not interested to be under this ring of fire from the proxies. This is why we will dismantle the threat, this is for the cabinet to decide how.”

Kuenssberg then asked, “Could the include a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, because many western leaders think that would move the whole world into a new phase of danger.

“President Biden has asked Israel to rule out attaching Iran’s nuclear sites. Will you?”

Hotovely replied, “We will do everything to remove the threat, first. Second, if the world wants to prevent something like that, first of all we need to prevent from Iran nuclear abilities.”

Speaking to Sky News last WEdnesday, Professor Mohammad Marandi, from the University of Tehran said that Israel saying Iran’s attack was a failure is “wishful thinking.”

The Ayatollah’s missiles attack on Tuesday evening “was a massive blow to the Israeli regime.

He added, “If they dare strike back in Iran, we will hit them much harder next time. We will beat them into submission.”

He was asked it Iran could survive if there was all-out war, he stated, “Iran will not hit back harder. Iran will hit back much harder.”

He said, “This was the tip of the iceberg. Iran will lose no war,” he added, there is “no doubt” Israel would lose in all out-war.

Speaking to Sky News the former British Defence Secretary Grant  Shapps said it is “difficult to imagine Israel not responding,” to Iran’s attack from, “a country that wants to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth.”

“I can also say with confidence that if nothing changes, then we’ll continue to have Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas, the Iranian-backed militias, both in Syria and Iraq and Iran itself continuing to attack,” he added.
