The Belgian Defence Minister has warned Vladimir Putin that is he uses nuclear weapons then “Moscow will be wiped off the map.”

Theo Francken said is not worried about Russia’s constant rhetoric with threats of a nuclear attack and said that he believes the US President is fully committed to NATO should Article 5 be triggered.

In recent weeks Russia has upped their nuclear sabre-rattling as the Kremlin is fearful the US could supply Kyiv with the long-range high-precision Tomahawk cruise missiles.

The Belgian Defence Minister has insisted that NATO should not ignore any warnings coming out of Moscow and continue to help Ukraine defend their sovereign country.

US Department of War to start testing nuclear weapons ‘immediately’ in response to Putin

Francken told Belgian newspaper De Morgen, “Putin said the same thing when Finland and Sweden joined NATO, when we supplied tanks, missiles, F-16s… The lesson is that we mustn’t allow ourselves to be threatened.

“Initially, we only dared to fight back in Ukraine, out of fear of Putin’s reaction. That only prolonged the war, because all our supply lines run through Russia.

“You have to attack them, as we’re finally doing now. That was a red line for Putin too, but what did he do? Nothing. He knows: if I use nuclear weapons, they’ll wipe Moscow off the map. Then the end of the world will be near.”

The Kremlin vowed they “will do everything” in their power to ensure their security should Ukraine receive the long-range Tomahawks.

The Kremlin’s spokesman issued another war of words warning the use of Tomahawks on Russia will be “a new level of escalation.”

Dmitry Peskov told Russian media, “Our military knows what to do; they have the military potential and all the necessary capabilities. Everything will be done to ensure the security of our country.”

Peskov said the is current situation is “very dramatic” warning tensions are “escalating from all side.”

Peskov said the “topic of Tomahawks is of extreme concern.”

Peskov warned, “Just imagine a long-range missile is launched and is flying and we know that it could be nuclear.”

Shaun Pinner a former Ukrainian Marine, who was also captured by Russian forces and held as a prisoner of war (POW) wrote for LLB, “Zelenskyy’s comment was aired by Fox News in the United States on Sunday, the same day he spoke to US President Donald Trump and in Aljazeera.

“Even after losing families, children, and soldiers, our people have never targeted civilians. That’s the difference between Ukraine and Russia.” – NDTV reported

“It wasn’t just a statement about weapons, or possibly an open reply to Donald Trump, who has shown interest in supplying them “depending on how Ukraine plans to use them” and wants assurances before making a final commitment.

“Ukraine refuses to let rage dictate its actions. For Ukraine, precision is not merely strategy, it’s character.”

Shaun added, “As I recently wrote on my social media, ‘It’s honour that will, win this war. Russia lost that long ago, along with any moral bar to measure by’.

“The arrival of Tomahawks, if approved, is not just about firepower. It represents trust, from the Trump administration and from the West, trust that Ukraine will use such power responsibly. That trust has been earned, not demanded.”
