The US President Joe Biden has sent a direct message to Russia that they “will not prevail” after Monday’s hypersonic missile attack on Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital.
Across Kyiv “explosions” rocked the capital and air defences sprung into action and air raid sirens could be heard across the Ukrainian capital and plumes of thick black smoke was seen across the city.
The Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko said, “This is one of the worst attacks. You can see: it’s a children’s hospital.”
President Biden is to host the NATO summit in Washington and he has vowed that the US will continue to support Ukraine.

Biden announced that the US will provide more military aid for Kyiv adding, “The war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country.”
Reuters reported that President Biden said, “(Vladimir) Putin wants nothing less, nothing less, than Ukraine’s total subjugation … and to wipe Ukraine off the map.
“Ukraine can and will stop Putin.”
The United Nations said on Wednesday that it is “highly likely” the attack on the children’s hospital in Kyiv was a direct hit.
Danielle Bell, head of the UN’s Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine said that following an investigation “the children’s hospital suffered a direct hit rather than receiving damages due to an intercepted weapons system.”
