On Saturday a British man was arrested under suspicion of spying at an RAF base for Iran.

Healey wrote on X, “The safety of UK personnel and bases is my top priority. Force protection is at its highest level, and we deployed additional jets this week.”

This month Sir Keir Starmer sent warplanes to the Middle East following Tehran threatening to attack UK’s military bases and ships should they get involved with Israel attacking Iranian nuclear sites.

Tehran has threatened economic and military war across the Midde East including the UK and other parts of the world.

Iran’s state-owned Mehr News Agency issued a grave warning, “Any country that participates in repelling Iran’s attacks on Israel will be subject to Iranian forces targeting all regional bases of the complicit government, including military bases in the Persian Gulf countries and ships and naval vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.”

Sir Keir Starmer said the UK is sending more military assets to the Middle East to provide “contingency support” as conflict between Iran and Israel ramps up.

On Sunday the Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said the British military is prepared for any Iranian retaliation.

Reynolds told GB News, “A lot of people will be getting up, having their breakfast and wondering, ‘what does this mean?’”

“While Britain’s armed forces have not been involved, we have been preparing for some time for all eventualities,” Reynolds added.
