Britvic the soft drink maker has rejected Carlsberg’s takeover offer of £3.1 billion.

Britvic who make J20 and Robinson squash saw their share price jump 15%  in response on Friday.

The Danich brewing giant valued Britvic at 1,250p per share by offering £3.1 billion.

Britvic said the offer significantly undervalues Britvic, and its current and future prospects.”

Britvic told their shareholders, “The board remains confident in the current and future prospects of Britvic.

“It recognises its fiduciary duties and will consider any further proposal on its merits.

“There can be no certainty that any firm offer will be made for the company, nor as to the terms of any such offer, should one be made.”
