The Shadow Chancellor Met Stride launched a scathing attack on the Chancellor in the House of Commons as she fled to China “ducking” his question over the economic crisis gripping the UK.
Stride told MPs that the pound has hit a 14-month low and business confidence has “fallen through the floors” as borrowing cost reach a staggering 27-year high since the Autumn Budget.
Stride said in a furious tirade against Rachel Reeves, “This is a crisis made in Downing Street,” and Reeves, Angela Rayner and the Chief Treasury Secretary Darren Jones could be seen laughing and grinning on the frontbench.
The Conservative Party wrote on social media, “Labour think that losing control of the public finances, and sending the economy into crisis, is a laughing matter… Shameful.”
Stride asked, “When the Government was losing control of the economy, where was the Chancellor?” he then called her Beijing trip a “Peking duck.”

The Shadow Chancellor added, “To go or not to go? That is now a question. The Prime Minister will be damned if he does, but he will be surely damned if he does not.”

Braverman said, “China is committing genocide in Xinjiang, funding Putin’s war of aggression in Europe and has committed acts of cyber-terrorism against the British people.
