Princeton University have developed a computer simulation which reveals what a global nuclear war would look like should Vladimir Putin press the nuclear button.

Putin has made constant remarks and threats in using nuclear weapons and has previously warned that he is “not bluffing.”

In recent weeks this rhetoric has been ramped up which has now forced Western leaders to make preparations.

In April Putin warned, “If someone intends to interfere in what is going on from the outside they must know that constitutes an unacceptable strategic threat to Russia.

“They must know that our response to counter strikes will be lightning fast. Fast.

“We have all the weapons we need for this. No one else can brag about these weapons, and we won’t brag about them. But we will use them.”

Dr Alex Glaser who is one the creators of the computer simulation called Plan A, told Newsweek: “As far as one can tell, this is the most serious crisis with a potential nuclear dimension involving Russia and the United States/NATO since the end of the Cold War, even if the risk of a nuclear war is still considered ‘small’—as many analysts would argue.

“A crisis like the one we are currently facing often results in miscommunication between parties, exacerbated by the fact that there remain very few active lines of communication between Russia and the US/NATO.”
