Huge surge of bets in as to who will be the next Prime Minister is not so unsurprising give the Peter Mandelson scandal gripping the government.
Since Sir Keir Starmer gave the “shocking” admission during Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) on Wednesday that he “did know” about Mandelson’s relationship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, his future remains very unstable as there has been so many calls for him to now resign.
The pressure on Starmer is reaching new levels following criticism of his handling of the Mandelson-Epstein scandal. The Prime Minister is hurtling towards the Downing Street exit door as punters weigh up his replacement. Ed Miliband’s odds have been slashed from 15/1 to just 5/1 overnight to become the next Prime Minister.
The Secretary of State for Energy was the most backed candidate over the last 24 hours with 30% of bets backing Miliband to succeed Starmer.
