The head of the Sumy City Military Administration has confirmed there was a second ballistic missile attack, this was responsible for causing the highest number of deaths and injuries on civilians.
Serhii Kryvosheienko said the second ballistic missile was likely filled with shrapnel which exploded in the air, this caused maximum damage to civilians on Palm Sunday.
Kryvosheienko said, “The colossal cruelty of Russian terror. This morning, two missile strikes were launched at the center of Sumy.
“It was the second strike, with a ballistic missile, that resulted in human casualties, with a high number of deaths and injuries.”
He added, “According to preliminary conclusions, most of the civilian casualties were caused by these shrapnel elements.
“The explosion occurred approximately 200 meters from the first impact site, in an area with residential buildings, educational institutions, and shops.”

This was clearly a planned attack on civilians and infrastructure by launching two ballistic missiles on Sumy.
So far at least 32 people including children have been killed, there is at least 99 injured along with 11 children.
Local authorities confirmed that Russia carried out another strike with a missile that was carrying deadly cluster munitions which exploded above Sumy.
State Emergency Service said, “Sumy: as of 3:35 PM (Kyiv time -ed.), the number of injured has risen to 99, including 11 children.”
Trump’s Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg wrote on X, “Today’s Palm Sunday attack by Russian forces on civilian targets in Sumy crosses any line of decency.
“There are scores of civilian dead and wounded.”
“Today, as a result of the missile strike, there are many dead… The enemy struck again at the peaceful population,” the acting mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar wrote on social media.
The Interior Minister told RBC-Ukraine, the number of victims could grow, he warned, “Russia launched two ballistic missile strikes on Sumy this morning.
“The arrivals were recorded clearly in the city centre. Today is Palm Sunday, a lot of people were on the street, and the church where the consecration is taking place is located nearby. It was at this time that the Russians struck, clearly realising that they were hitting civilians”
