More than 500 small boat migrants have tried to cross the English Channel causing “complete chaos” as “Border Force just can’t cope” with the large numbers crossing.

All French border patrol and lifeboats are escorting migrants across the Channel and British RNLI boats from Dungness, Walmer, Ramsgate and Dover are dealing with vast amount of the number of migrants crossing the ocean to claim asylum in the UK.

GB News was told by a senior maritime security source, “The situation out there is complete chaos.

It’s clear yet again, Border Force just can’t cope with the numbers attempting to cross today.

They’ve had to call on very significant resources from the lifeboat service.

The RNLI get a lot of flak for responding to migrant boats, but it’s hard to see what else they can reasonably do.

“These boats are completely overloaded. And if Border Force don’t have the resources to respond, someone has to.”

So far this year more than 25,000 have arrived in the UK and it is expected this number could rise to as much as 50,000 by the end of the year.

In seven days some 1,000 migrants have crossed the Channel and have illegally entered Britain.

The RNLI has been branded as a “taxi service” and the charity has defended picking up the migrants.

The RNLI who relies on donations from the public has said they will not apologise for responding to migrants crossing the Channel.

The Coastguard send the lifeboat crews to incidents and remain politically independent, they said, “When our pager goes, we’re not thinking anything political.”

An RNLI lifeboat crew member Paula Lain told the BBC, “We’re all thinking about people. We’re actively compassionate. That’s what drives us beyond any moral or civic responsibility. We’re there to help people in their most distressing times.”

The Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and hit out at the RNLI calling them a “taxi service” for illegal migrants.
