Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to introduce external governance in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations, aimed at holding free elections, is an effective way to address the issue of the illegitimate Ukrainian government, the Russian MP, Sergey Mironov said.

Mironov told LondonLovesBusiness.com in a written statement, “Under the current conditions, this is in fact the most effective, practical solution and a peaceful measure that will save many lives,” the politician said.

“Mr. Zelensky has lost both his legitimacy and any moral right to remain in office.

“The preservation of the Kiev regime would perpetuate terror and the plundering of the country. The Russian President proposed a real and swift way to liberate Ukraine from neo-Nazism and restore legitimate governance.”

The Russian MP noted that against the backdrop of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace initiatives, Zelensky is “looking for a way to legalize himself in power, hoping that Russia will halt its special military operation.”

“He will not succeed in this, and he has no chance of winning in free elections,” Sergey Mironov asserted.

He added that Vladimir Putin’s proposal would nullify the plans of France and Britain to send troops to Ukraine, thereby averting a potential war with Russia.

He added, “The so-called ‘peacekeepers’ would have the same ‘legitimate’ status as Zelensky himself—unlike structures operating under the auspices of the United Nations.

“The Russian President suggests that the U.S. and other Western countries return the conflict’s resolution to the international legal framework.

“This is a true test of whether they desire war or peace.”
