As part of an ongoing development, Cadillac Fairview (CF) announced that retailer La Maison Simons, also known as Simons, will build a new store at Toronto’s Eaton Centre. Three storeys of the commercial center will house the 110,000-square-foot main Yonge street showroom of La Maison Simons in downtown Toronto.The 63,800-square-foot second level of the building where Nordstrom had stood will be partially occupied by it.
According to La Maison Simons, the company also intends to construct a store in Yorkdale Shopping Center. It will take over the first two floors of the former Nordstrom location and be approximately 118,000 square feet in size.
The two shops, which are expected to open in 2025, will include the whole La Maison Simons retail line, including labels from up-and-coming Canadian designers, along with a modern assortment of home fashion and décor. According to La Maison Simons, the company is investing more than $75 million to construct the additional facilities in Toronto, which will generate roughly 400 employment. Currently, Mississauga’s Square One and Ottawa’s Rideau Centre are home to two La Maison Simons in Ontario.
