The Reform UK leader has said the government recognising Palestine state is “completely wrong,” which comes after Sir Keir Starmer took to social media on Sunday issuing the statement.

Hamas has been celebrating the recognition as a “victory” in a bombshell statement, which is causing a political backlash.

Mahmoud Mardaw, a senior Hamas official said Starmer’s announcement is a “a victory for Palestinian rights and the justice of our cause,” and the Telegraph reported that this will “send a clear message” to Israel.

President Trump told reporters on Ait Force One, “I don’t think they should be rewarded. I am not in that camp, to be honest.”

Nigel Farage was asked if becomes the next Prime Minister will he reverse Starmer’s decision.

Farage said, “I think Starmer was completely wrong to do that. You can’t reward terrorists like Hamas.

“And even though he tried to caveat what he said, the fact is that at the moment, Hamas and the Palestinian cause are inseparable one from the other.

“How can you recognise a state if you don’t even know what the geographical boundaries of it would be, let alone to recognise a state when the people who are running it are intent on wiping out the state of Israel.”

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said, “This is Sir Keir Starmer’s Neville Chamberlain moment. Apparently the promises to do ‘everything possible’ to bring the hostages home meant nothing.”

The CAA said on Sunday Starmer’s actions is a “deliberate betrayal of those taken hostage and slain on 7th October 2023” and the Prime Minister has rewarded “Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and their supporters.”
