On Thursday morning HM Coastguard and Border Force vessels were sent out to escort migrants boats crossing the English Channel.
The French authorities waved on the migrants allowing them to make the illegal and dangerous crossing.
The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and the French President Emmanuel Macron has been holing crunch talks in an attempt to stop migrants crossing the Channel.
More than 21,000 migrants have been able to more or less freely make the crossing which is 48% higher than the first half of the year before.
By the end of March there was 32,345 asylum seekers in hotels, and in the year to March there has been a 17% increase in asylum claims.

A spokesman said: “HM Coastguard has been coordinating a response to multiple incidents involving small boats in the Channel this morning, 10 July. UK Border Force vessels have been sent as part of this response.”
Speaking to GB News from a boat in the Channel, the Reform UK leader said, “This is a classic day in the English Channel over the last five years when the weather’s calm, or a red day, as they call it.
“You’ve got a migrant boat and we’ve seen it through the binoculars.
“There are about 70 people on board, being escorted all the way over by the French Navy and behind us, we have Border Force sitting on the 12-mile line, waiting for the handover.”
Downing Street said that Thursday’s “innovative” approaches with a “targeted international response” is required to put an end to illegal immigration, with many doubting Starmer will be able to do this.
The spokesman said, “We’ve been consistently clear that the numbers are unacceptable.
“Clearly, more work needs to be done, as I say, we will approach that, whether that is investing in border security command, whether that is working with our international allies.
“We’re clear that this is an international problem, cracking down on these gangs cannot be done singularly.”
