Google is continuing to expand the role of Gemini across its productivity apps, and Google Slides is now getting a fresh set of AI-powered upgrades. Gemini already helps users generate images, summarize information, and build presentation content more quickly. With the latest update, Google is adding new tools designed to make it easier to turn ideas into complete slide decks, edit existing presentations, and keep layouts consistent.
Gemini’s slide generation capabilities in Google Slides are getting an upgrade, and it can now create fully editable slides that match the overall theme of your deck. When creating new slides, you can also instruct Gemini to pull information from your files, emails, and the web, and it will automatically find relevant details to incorporate in the new slide.
Google is also upgrading Gemini’s editing capabilities, and it can now act as a collaborative partner, helping you edit slides using simple natural language commands. Google says you can now prompt Gemini to “make this match the colors of the rest of my deck” or “make this more minimal” to quickly edit your slides.

In addition to improved slide generation and editing, Google is prepping a massive upgrade for Gemini in Google Slides that will help you generate entire slide decks from scratch. Once it rolls out, this feature will let you create an entire presentation with a single prompt like “create a 5-slide deck for my upcoming Tokyo trip,” and Gemini will sift through your emails and files to generate a personalized presentation with your travel details.
The slide generation upgrade and improved editing capabilities are rolling out globally to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in US English and will also be available to enterprise users on the Gemini Alpha business plan. Google has not shared a timeline for the slide deck creation feature yet, only saying that it is coming soon.
