Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, has issued a warning about an alleged conspiracy to orchestrate a “9/11-style” terrorist incident and falsely blame Iran for it.

The Secretary of National Security of Iran claimed, “I have heard that the remaining members of Epstein’s network have devised a conspiracy to create an incident similar to 9/11 and assign blame to Iran.”

Larijani emphasised that Tehran fundamentally opposes such terrorist schemes, insisting that Iran “has no war with the American people.”

He made these statements on his official account on X amid heightened tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, framing it as a warning about a potential false-flag operation that could be used to justify action against Iran.

According to Larijani, Iran’s stance is that it opposes terrorist attacks and is defending itself against what Tehran perceives as aggression.

However, there is no independent evidence from credible news outlets or verified investigations supporting the existence of such a plot by an “Epstein network.” The reporting on this matter primarily stems from Larijani’s statements and regional media quoting his post.

Jeffrey Epstein’s real estate, social connections, and criminal case have previously been intertwined with online conspiracy theories, which sometimes blend unrelated geopolitical narratives. Experts caution that conspiracy theories can spread widely, even in the absence of credible evidence.

As of now, no official intelligence agency has confirmed any plans to stage a 9/11-like attack and blame Iran. This claim reflects the Iranian government’s narrative amid ongoing conflicts and should be viewed with caution, given the lack of corroboration from independent sources.
