The Kremlin has accused “the USA and Britain” for assassination attempts on Vladimir Putin.

The Kremlin said that attempts by Ukraine to kill Putin was backed “with US money.”

Lt-Gen Kyrylo Budanov the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (GRU) said that assassination attempts “were made, but as you can see they were unsuccessful.”

The Russian leader’s spokesman said, “All threats from the Kyiv regime are obvious. Therefore, the security of the first person is ensured at the proper level.”

The Russian foreign ministry official Maria Zakharova accused Kyiv of “preparing attempts” to kill Putin.

She said, “One of the leaders of the Kyiv regime, Budanov, openly admitted that Ukrainian intelligence was preparing attempts to take the life of the Russian President.”

She added that the assassination attempts was “prepared” by using “American money,” but she failed to produce any evidence.

Pro-Kremlin military analyst Sergey Markov said, “Putin is the target.

“And not only for the SBU [Ukrainian security service] and the [GRU] but also four the intelligence services of the USA and Britain and dozens of intelligence services of the world subordinate to them.

“This is why I believe that Putin should not make visits abroad at all, even to friendly countries.

“Russia has not yet decided how to respond. And so far there is no response. And this only encourages the enemy to escalate.”

The Kremlin’s statement comes after Donald Trump’s failed assassination attempt after he was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Trump was shot in the ear and a member of the public at the rally was shot dead and two others are critical ill.

Secret Service shot dead the gunman and the FBI identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Mathew Crooks as the “subject involved.”
