Kyiv’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Hungarian ambassador over the actions of Hungarian President Viktor Orbán wearing a scarf which depicts that Ukraine is part of Hungary.
Orbán wore the controversial scarf at a football match and Kyiv wants an apology as the scarf depicted a map of “greater Hungary.”
Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleh Nikolenko said in a Telegram channel, “Viktor Orbán came to the football match with a scarf depicting Hungary with part of the Ukrainian territory.
“Propaganda in Hungary of the ideas of revisionism does not contribute to the development of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations and does not meet the principles of European politics.”
The scarf showed the map of the current territories of Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine.
