There is a lot of “anger” among Labour backbench MPs as they are “concerned” over the continued “missteps” that has been made among Cabinet ministers.

Labour MP Barry Gardiner told GB News that MPs are “frustrated and angry” over the government failures over the past few weeks.

Gardiner said, “MPs are really concerned about the missteps that have been made at the top of the party in the past few weeks.”

GB News asked Gardiner if Sir Keir Starmer is aware of the media coverage and the frustrations of what the public are thinking.

He said, “I think Keir Starmer reads the front pages,” and said he believes that Starmer is aware of the negative headlines.

I think he has made a mistake in that he has surrounded himself with people who are telling him what he wants to hear and are perhaps not telling him what he needs to hear,” Gardiner said.

“That’s always a bad move for a leader. A leader needs to surround themselves with people who criticise constructively,” he added.

Gardiner said he has concerns over the reshuffle as he has silenced people who could constructively challenge him on decisions.

He warned, “He has rearranged the Cabinet. There’s nobody in there who will say ‘for goodness sake Keir, this is not going to work.”
