After beating Rishi Sunak Liz Truss has been confirmed as Boris Johnson’s successor on Monday, she is 4/1 to leave her role as Tory leader next year, according to Betfair Exchange.

The former Foreign Secretary is 33/1 to go before the end of the year and odds-on to depart by 2024 or later, meanwhile, Johnson is 33/1 to serve in Truss’ cabinet, while Sunak is 100/1.

It is 4/1 for a General Election to take place next year as Labour have shorter odds (14/5) than the Tories (3/1) to win a majority.

“A General Election is 4/1 to take place next year as Labour are 14/5 to win a majority, while the Conservatives have slightly longer odds of 3/1 to stay in power. Truss succeeds Boris Johnson, who is 33/1 to serve in her cabinet.”
