A major train station in Paris has been “evacuated” as a “bomb threat” alert in progress.

Gare du Nord train station in Paris has been closed and the “entire perimeter” has been cordoned off as police found to suspicious packages.

Journalist Jean-Baptiste Marty wrote on X, “A bomb threat is in progress at Gare du Nord in Paris. The entire perimeter around the station and within the station is cordoned off.”

He said that “two suspicious packages” have been reported in the area, he added, “They were discovered on the tracks by the police. The security perimeter is gradually lifted (police source).”

On the Champs-Elysees police swarmed the avenue after finding a “suspicious package” by a pedestrian crossing around 9am on Friday morning.

French journalist Samuel Levy published a photo showing a bag which was left on the pedestrian crossing and there was police surrounding the scene.

Levy wrote on X, “Suspicious package, luggage abandoned on Avenue des Champs-Elysées. Security perimeter operated by police and soldiers.”
