On Friday morning McDonalds was hit with an IT system outage at some of their restaurants that left the fast food chain unable to serve food.

The outage hit the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Japan and customers took to social media to complain.

McDonald’s in Japan apologised to their customers and said that they might have to “wait a while” until the issues are solved.

According to the Daily Mail, a McDonald’s Australia spokesperson said they are “aware of a technology outage.”

A McDonald’s spokeswoman said, “We are aware of a technology outage which impacted our restaurants.

“The issue has now been resolved in the UK and Ireland. We thank customers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

“The issue is not related to a cybersecurity event.”
