The British government has been accused of “ignoring” the threat of Covid hitting the UK as travellers from China are arriving in their droves and are not being tested.
The government are being warned that they need to act as MPs and passengers who arrived from a Covid infested China at London’s Heathrow Airport arrived test-free.
Independent MP Neil Coyle of the Foreign Affairs Committee warned that Chinese officials are scaling down the true extent of the Covid problem that China has.
He said, “The dangers are being tackled by many other countries but ministers are still shovelling turkey and ignoring the threat.”

Across China hospitals have been overwhelmed by an explosion of Covid infections since Beijing scrapped their strict lockdown rules.
China has been accused of not being forthcoming over what type of variant they have, and Brussels do not know as yet if there could be an explosive outbreak which was seen in late 2019 which then forced the UK into a lockdown in March 2020.
Health experts are concerned that there has been no sharing of data of any signs that Covid may have evolved sparking fears.
The British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace simply said on Thursday that the UK are keeping travel from China “under review.”
Senior Conservative MPs are saying that by introducing measures at UK airports this could help identify any new variants be having mandatory testing.
On Friday morning Spain became the second European country to introduce Covid restrictions following an emergency meeting in Brussels.
The European Commission’s Health and Security committee held an emergency Covid meeting on Thursday amid China’s response to allowing 1.4 billion access to travel globally.
Beijing’s policy on zero-Covid lockdowns has proved unsuccessful and has since been scrapped and Brussels are trying to come up with a joint plan to prevent passengers who are carrying the virus from arriving from China.
The Spanish Health Minister Carolina Darias told a press conference on Friday that all passengers who arrive in Spain from China must show “proof that they are negative… or a full vaccination list.”
