Moldova warned they ‘are at risk’ of Russian missile attacks on power facilities

Ukrainian has warned on Friday that Moldova “are at risk” of Russian missile attacks on their power facilities.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Russia attacked their energy power plants and the Kani hydropower plant and Dnister plant, located on the Dnister River which flows through Moldova.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Friday that “Moldova are at risk” of have their power plants attacked by Russia.

President Zelensky said, “The terrorist state of Russia wishes to repeat the ecological disaster in the Kherson region following Russia’s destruction of the Kakhovka HPP [dam].

Earlier Zelensky said, “Russian terrorists again hit the Ukrainian energy sector.

“Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ukrenergo [Ukraine’s national energy company], and Oleksii Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Naftogaz [a Ukrainian state-run national oil and gas company], reported on the damage caused and restoration work.

“We discussed the most effective ways of providing physical protection and their implementation at other facilities.

“The terrorist country wants a repeat of the ecological disaster in Kherson region. But now not only Ukraine is under threat, but also Moldova.

“The water will not stop in front of the border posts, just as the Russian war will not stop if we don’t stop it together in Ukraine in time.”

President Zelensky then said that the urgent need for air defence has once again come to the fore.

He added, “Due to the intensity of the Russian shelling, it is necessary to replenish supplies faster. He instructed to strengthen work with partners. We are counting on their quick reaction.”
