Moscow will send North Korea military assistance is they come under an attack which is stipulated in a signed treaty between Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-Un.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said if there is any acts of aggression against North Korea then the Kremlin will use “all necessary measures” to protect the country.
Rudenko told Russian state media, “If an act of aggression is committed against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, all necessary measures will be taken in accordance with our legislation, in accordance with the DPRK’s legislation.”
He added, “The treaty says it all: article three, article four. The treaty is signed, so it is public.
“It has Article 4, which deals precisely with the issue of mutual assistance in case of aggression, that the sides, in case of aggression against one of the sides, will provide each other with any necessary assistance, including military assistance.”

This comes as Pyongyang has accused Soeul of launching drones over the North Korean capital three times this month.
North Korea has placed eight artillery units on the border “on standby to open fire” and warned there will be a “horrible disaster” if the drones are launched again.
On Tuesday North Korea blew up roads and rail links to South Korea in their own country affectively turning themselves into “a fortress.”
Local time around midday on Tuesday the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) told reporters that Kin Jong-un ordered for the roads and rail lines to be blown up.
“The North Korean military conducted detonations, assumed to be aimed at cutting off the Gyeongui and Donghae roads, at around noon and is carrying out additional activities using heavy equipment,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Tuesday.
“The military is closely monitoring the North Korean military’s activities and maintains a firm readiness posture amid strengthened surveillance under South Korea-U.S. cooperation.”
South Korea said that North Korea is “repeatedly conducting such regressive behaviour.”
In June Putin pledged a security cooperation with North Korea and signed a strategic treaty in Pyongyang.
The Russian despot said in the North Korean capital the security document provides “among other things, for mutual assistance in case of aggression against one of the parties to this treaty.”
Putin added that Russia “does not rule out military-technical cooperation with the DPRK in connection with the treaty that was signed today.”
Yuri Ushakov, the Russian presidential assistant, said the pact is required because of “the deep evolution of the geopolitical situation in the world and the region.”
If South Korea was deemed by North Korea to being attacked then Russia would be forced to deploy “all means at its disposal without delay” to send immediate “military assistance,” this is quite similar to NATO.
Equally should Moscow claim that they are being attacked by NATO then North Korea would then come to Russia’s aid.
This has been seen as the strongest alliance that Russia and North Korea has had since the Cold War.
Putin signed a nuclear and technology agreement which could see Moscow helping Pyongyang with their nuclear missile programme.
