NATO chief has warned the world is growing more and more dangerous and placed nuclear weapons on standby as the West could soon be facing two “nuclear powered” adversaries.

Tensions between Russia and China are at their highest than ever before and the NATO chief has issued a warning that the West could soon be faced with “something that it has never faced before.”

NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told The Daily Telegraph that consultations have started over the need to place nuclear weapons on alert.

Since Vladimir Putin started the war in Ukraine Moscow has ramped up their spending on missiles, shells and ammunition and has placed Russia on a war economy.

China and North Korea have become closer since the war in Ukraine started in February 2022 and they have also ramped up their military spending and the West is facing a “nuclear alliance.”

NATO’s chief warned “NATO may face something that it has never faced before, and that is two nuclear-powered potential adversaries – China and Russia.

“Of course, this has consequences.”

Stoltenberg said, “I won’t go into operational details about how many nuclear warheads should be operational and which should be stored, but we need to consult on these issues.

“That’s exactly what we’re doing.”

He said that transparency of this urgent issue “helps to communicate the direct message” that NATO is in fact a “nuclear alliance.

Stoltenberg added, “NATO’s aim is, of course, a world without nuclear weapons, but as long as nuclear weapons exist, we will remain a nuclear alliance, because a world where Russia, China and North Korea have nuclear weapons, and NATO does not, is a more dangerous world.”

On Friday Putin issued another warning to the West the world is “close to a point of no return.”

Putin has accused the West of “selfishness and hypocrisy” this is leading to a “dangerous turn of events.”

The Russian despot told Foreign Ministry officials, “Calls to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, which possesses the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons demonstrate the extreme recklessness of Western politicians.

“They either do not understand the scale of the threat they are creating – or are simply obsessed with their own sense of impunity and exceptionalism.

“Both can lead to tragedy.”
