Allied fighter jets were scrambled overnight as Russia launched one their largest attacks since the war started.

The city of Lviv was hit in the worst attack to date and is 43 miles from the Polish border. Lviv was hit with “thunderous strikes” over a five-hour period and residents were told to “remain indoors.”

Russia fired hypersonic missiles, Kinzhal dagger missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles and guided aerial bombs.

Russian long-range nuclear capable bombers, Tu95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers launched conventional missiles.

Poland’s Operation Command wrote on X, “To ensure the safety of Polish airspace, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has activated all necessary procedures.

“Polish and allied aircraft are intensively operating in our airspace, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest state of readiness.”

They insisted this was purely done as “preventative in nature” and it is not believed that Russian aircraft or aerial objects entered Polish airspace.

They added, “These actions are preventive in nature and are aimed at securing the airspace and protecting citizens, especially in areas adjacent to the threatened region.

“The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and the forces and resources under its command remain fully prepared for immediate response.”

Lviv’s Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said, “In Lviv it is just hell right now,” as Russian strikes last for five hours, this led to power cuts.

A techno park was on fire, the Mayor said, “This is a civilian facility, without any military component.”
