Donald Trump will be calling Vladimir Putin “as quickly as possible” to stop the war in Ukraine.

A source has revealed that Trump will not send and American forces to Ukraine and it will up to the Brits and the French” to keep peace and stability.

According to a report as soon as Trump takes office he will start to make attempts to stop the war, all the details have not been revealed.

The Wall Street Journal has reported Trump will set up a demilitarised zone to freeze the conflict and the territory Putin has gained will end up being part of the Russian Federation. The demilitarised zone will be protected by European forces and there will not be any American troops involved in guarding it.

The demilitarised zone would be “heavily fortified so the Russians don’t invade again” Vice President JD Vance said during an interview in September.

A Trump source said, “We can do training and other support but the barrel of the gun is going to be European.

We are not sending American men and women to uphold peace in Ukraine. And we are not paying for it. Get the Poles, Germans, British and French to do it.”

During his campaign Trump has repeatedly said he will end the war quickly and will bring Kyiv and Moscow to the table. Trump said, “I can’t give you those plans because if I give you those plans, I’m not going to be able to use them.”

Kurt Volkner, a former adviser to Mr Trump on Ukraine, said Tump is “going to make a phone call to Putin as quickly as possible and tell Putin that he needs to stop the war, that the fighting has to stop, and that there has to be peace.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in response: “We have repeatedly said that the US is able to contribute to the end of this conflict.

“This cannot be done overnight, but… the US is capable of changing the trajectory of its foreign policy.

“Will this happen, and if so, how … we will see after (the US president’s inauguration in) January.”
