The Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has accused Russia of “planning acts of terrorism” on airlines globally, including inside Poland.

During a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw, Tusk said, “Russia has been planning air terror — not only against Poland but also against airlines around the world.”

This comes after the New York Times reported that the Joe Biden administration warned Vladimir Putin to stop all intelligence operations that involves placing bombs on US bound cargo planes.

Moscow has long been suspected of being behind incidents which took place in July 2024 where several incendiary devices caught fire in postal warehouses in the UK and Germany after coming off flights which could have caused airlines to explode in mid-air.

In August 2024 US intelligence obtained chat between Russian secret service officers who were discussing the details of the plans.

The White House gave Putin a warning through back-channel communications to immediately stop all operations, the New York Times reported.

The Polish Prime Minister said, “These acts of sabotage are versions of the war that Russia has declared to the whole world, not just Ukraine. They require joint action, and Poland plays a key role in countering such threats.”
