The Russian dictator is demanding that the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky give up the Donetsk region to end the war, The Washington Post reported citing two senior Washington officials.
According to the report Putin told the US President he will give up the Kherson regions and parts of Zaporizhzhia which are in part controlled by the Russian leader’s thugs.
A few White House official have said this is “progress,” but a senior European diplomat said this is akin to Ukraine “selling them their own leg in exchange for nothing.”
The White House is urging both Moscow and Kyiv to “stop the killing and make a deal.”
Trump wrote on his Truth Social, “It is time to stop the killing, and make a DEAL! Enough blood has been shed, with property lines being defined by War and Guts.

Russia and their proxy forces invaded Donetsk in 2014 and now control all the region, Ukrainian troops are dug in deep inside the region as the region is a key route for Russia to enter into the capital city, Kyiv.
On Sunday Zelensky said, “Putin cannot be stopped by talk – only by pressure.
“The world sees that Russia responds to strength. Therefore, peace through strength can work.”
“Ukraine has never wanted war. The war continues only because Moscow does not want it to end,” he added.
President Zelensky told reporters whilst at the White House on 17 October that the most difficult conversations to have during a peace negotiation is territory.
President Zelensky said, “Our position is that first we need ceasefire, so we need to sit and speak and to understand where we are. I think this is the most important first step.”
He told reporters, “I think the President [Trump] understands that the most difficult question in any kind of negotiations, in any format, will be the issue of territory.”
Zelensky said that Putin wants to “occupy everything” and “now they want before any kind of ceasefire to make a deal about land, about our territories.”
