On Monday Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to increase the number military personnel in the Russian Armed Forces from around 2.2 million to 2,389, 130 this also include the 1.5 million personnel.

This will take effect from 1 December this year and this means there will be an additional 180,000 troops.

When the war started on 24 February 2022 Putin increased the number of forces to 1,150,628 after six months of the full-scale invasion, the Kyiv Independent reports.

Ukrainian officials believe that the Kremlin is recruiting, “covertly” some 30,000 troops per month amid Russia’s high losses of soldiers.

Officials in Kyiv believe that to date some 630,000 Russian have either been killed in action, wounded or captured.
