The Ukrainian spy chief has warned that Vladimir Putin will “transfer certain missile technologies” to North Korea as Russia have a great “need for ammunition.”
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Agency (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that Putin will negotiate for more munitions in his trip to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
In an interview broadcast on the telethon Budanov answered the question of what Putin will negotiate during his upcoming visit to the DPRK.
The Ukrainian spy chief said, “About increasing the volume of arms supplies to the Russian Federation, first of all. And deepening the relationship.”

He said that this is concerning over Moscow and the DPRK cooperation on missile technologies, which comes as Kim Jung-un is trying to develop a nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile fleet.
Budanov said, “The Russian Federation thinks that it is normal to transfer certain missile technologies to the DPRK. This is their vision.
“The DPRK will do a lot for these technologies. The human resource there is serious, and the defense capabilities, unfortunately, are not comparable with the Russian Federation.
“They can and do work much more efficiently and work more than Russians. Therefore, there will definitely be an increase in the supply, primarily of artillery weapons.”
Answering the question of what is missing, for the Russian forces in weapons, Budanov said that they lacking ammunition.
“The problem is the same as ours -ammunition. This is the number one need,” he said.
Budanov told the Financial Times on Sunday two weeks ago that North Korea are using Ukraine as a “testing ground” for ballistic missiles which are capable of using nuclear warheads.
In the interview with the FT the Ukrainian spy chief said that North Korea has “transferred a significant amount of artillery ammunition” to Russia.
He added, “This allowed Russia to breathe a little bit. Without their help, the situation would have been catastrophic.”
Budanov said that Russia is using more weapons and ammunition than they are able to produce.
The Ukrainian spy chief said, “This is precisely what motivates Russia’s search for weapons in other countries.”
