Nigal Farage has said that Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf has quit the party as he became “disengaged” following Sara Pochin asking a question in Parliament over a burqa ban on Wednesday.
Farage told GB News, “I was given a 10-minute warning that it was going to come.” Farage said he spoke with Yusuf on Wednesday morning, he “did seem very, very disengaged.”
Farage praised Yusuf and contributions to Reform, he told the media outlet, “For 11 months, we’ve been pretty much inseparable. For 11 months, we’ve been working towards May 1st.”
He added, “He’s brilliant when it comes to data. He’s brilliant when it comes to the technical side of things. He really is in a class of his own.”
He explained that political lief is hard, “It’s 100 hours a week, it’s seven days a week. It is totally unrelenting.”
He believes the former chairman is “walking away from the whole political game, I suspect never to return.”
