On Wednesday morning Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv killing one and injuring four other people.
Officials in the capital reported that various fires broke out in Kyiv at neighbourhoods in the city and a missile also hit an office building, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said.
In the Holosiivskyi district a large warehouse fire was reported and a roof caught fire in the Solomianskyi district.
A state news channel office was also damaged in the ballistic missile attack and explosions rung out at 4.30 on Wednesday morning, the Kyiv Independent reports.
An AFP journalist heard a series of explosions echo throughout the capital and saw a dead body of an innocent person who was killed in the strike who was covered in a black plastic sheet.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that four others were injured including a young child.
He said that the Kremlin is not interested in any peace negotiations and Vladimir Putin is “not preparing for peace” but he is preparing to kill more Ukrainians as the sleep.
Zelensky said, “This night, Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones against Ukraine, damaging apartment buildings, office complexes, and civilian infrastructure.”
President Zelensky added, “This Russian terror against Ukraine will not stop on its own. Putin is not preparing for peace—he continues to kill Ukrainians and destroy cities.”
“Right now, Ukraine needs unity and unwavering support from all partners to achieve a just end to this war,” he said.
“Only strong steps and pressure on Russia can stop this terror. Right now we need the unity and the support of all our partners in the fight for a just end to this war,” he added.
The Russian Defence Ministry said they undertook a “group missile attack” on Ukrainian military sites that make drones.
They said on social media, “All planned targets were hit.”
In the aftermath of the Russian missile attack some 120 rescue workers were deployed in three areas of the capital city.
